As a Database Administrator you will be responsible to maintain and migrate all databases in MS SQL, MySQL and Oracle. As a member of a team consisting of Front-End Developers, a Full-Stack Developer, QA, Business Analysts, and a Scrum master, you will build databases required for back-end technology to create a seamless experience for customers as well as internal stakeholders. The work you do will be central to how Perfume Worldwide achieves quality.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Monitoring databases, which include basic health checks, growth of objects, performance of the database and giving recommendations how to resolve it.
- Configured Database Mirroring with high performance and high availability mode.
- Reviews description of changes to database design to understand how changes affect how data is stored in terms of location, amount of space, and access method.
- Update entire environment to SQL Server 2016 from SQL Server 2008 R2, SQL Server 2012 and SQL Server 2014 utilizing PowerShell.
- Involved in Moving System databases.
- Managing server and database roles to meet audit requirements High availability solutions and disaster recovery.
- Implementing and maintaining database security (create and maintain users, roles and assign privileges).
- Monitored the event logs and server logs for troubleshooting and problem solving
- Implemented different types of replications Transactional, Snapshot and merge replications.
- Identify areas for refactoring and improvements as changes are made.
- Migrated databases from SQL Server 2005 to SQL Server 2008/2008R2 databases.
- Support developers and project managers on database requirements, performance issues and optimum space requirements.
- Responsible for overseeing the company's requirements, development, testing and deployment of Microsoft CRM projects.
- Customizing and configuring CRM system at a user level.
- Responsible for converting business requirements into technical requirements for development team.
- Maintain and monitor all redundancy and disaster recovery configurations for SQL systems including but not limited to data replication.
- Ensure all developed SQL Server components function flawlessly in a production environment with stringent uptime standards.
- Controls migrations of programs, database changes, reference data changes and menu changes through the development life cycle.
- Migrating MySQL database from 5.1 to 5.6 with all data without effecting client applications.
- Administers all SQL database objects, including tables, clusters, indexes, views, sequences, packages and procedures.
- Experience with backup strategies, clustering, high-availability (Always On Availability Groups), replication and DR solutions for SQL a must, review database design and make recommendations regarding enhancements and/or improvements.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree required in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or Information Technology Management or Computer Information Systems.
- In-depth understanding and experience working with different databases like MS SQL, MySQL, Oracle.
- Experience with MS SQL Server Standard and Enterprise 2008 and SQL 2012; SQL 2014
- Proven experience deploying production quality MS SQL database, stored procedures, DTS and SSIS packages.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in computer science or computer engineering or Electrical/Electronics and Computer Engineer is required.
- Proficient in Office 365 Products (Including SharePoint).
- Excellent customer service skills.
